Kitten Paws – Purchase Policy & Health Guarantee

​1. Pet-Only Agreement

Our Scottish Fold and Scottish Straight kittens are sold as pets only and must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age for health reasons. The new owner must provide proof of spaying/neutering. Failure to do so will result in a penalty fee of double the purchase price of the kitten.

2. Responsible Ownership & No Refund Policy

Kitten Paws kittens can never be placed in pet shops, shelters, or research facilities. If the new owner can no longer care for their kitten, they must offer the kitten back to Kitten Paws. The new owner is responsible for all shipping and veterinary costs, and no refunds will be given.

🚨 Deposits are non-refundable. Allergies are not a valid reason for a refund. Please ensure no one in your household is allergic before purchasing a kitten.

3. Indoor-Only Policy

All Scottish Fold and Scottish Straight kittens from Kitten Paws must remain indoor cats for their safety. We cannot guarantee personality traits, as temperament depends on various factors, including environment, nutrition, and stress levels.

4. Quarantine & Vet Check Upon Arrival

To ensure a stress-free transition, new owners should introduce their kitten slowly to family members and other pets. If there are other animals in the home, the new kitten must be examined by a licensed vet within 5 days before contact with them. Failure to follow this quarantine policy will void all health guarantees.

5. Health Guarantee

At Kitten Paws, we strive to provide healthy Scottish Fold kittens for sale in Los Angeles. To the best of our knowledge, the new owner is receiving a healthy kitten, free from hereditary or life-threatening congenital defects.

To validate this health guarantee:
✅ The new owner must take the kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of purchase.
✅ If a vet identifies a serious health issue, the new owner has 72 hours to return the kitten with official documentation from the vet.
✅ If returned within these conditions, Kitten Paws will provide a replacement kitten of equal value when available.

🚨 What’s NOT covered:

• Vet visits, tests, vaccines, and medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner.

• If a kitten is not examined by a vet within 7 days, this health guarantee is void.

• No health guarantee will apply if a kitten contracts a virus from another pet after purchase.

• Kitten Paws is not responsible for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is caused by a common feline coronavirus. Most cats recover from the virus, but in rare cases, it mutates into FIP, which is fatal. Since there is no definitive test or cure, FIP cannot be covered under our health guarantee.

New owners should be aware that stress (such as traveling, new environments, or meeting new pets) can cause mild symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, loss of appetite, or digestive upset. These are normal and temporary.

6. VACCINATIONS

Our Scottish Fold and Scottish Straight kittens receive vaccinations according to their age:
🐾 8 weeks – First vaccine (Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) & deworming
🐾 11 weeks – Second vaccine & deworming
🐾 14 weeks – Third vaccine

New owners must ensure that the rabies vaccine is given after 4 months of age, separately from any other treatment or vaccine. Over-vaccination should be avoided, and a 3-year waiver is recommended.

🚨 We do NOT allow the use of the following vaccines, as they void the health guarantee:

• Modified live FIP vaccine

• Leukemia vaccine (FeLV)

• Ringworm, Bordetella, or Chlamydia vaccines

7. DIET & NUTRITION

Your kitten must be fed high-quality canned and dry food from our list of recommended brands.
🚫 No human food or milk!
💧 Fresh, filtered water must be provided daily in glass or stainless steel bowls.

8. SAFE HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS

To keep your Scottish Fold kitten healthy, only use natural, non-toxic cleaners, detergents, and dish soaps on surfaces your cat may contact.

9. LITTER TRAINING

Our kittens are fully litter-trained before going home. However, when moving to a new home, they may need an adjustment period.
🐾 Keep your kitten in a small room with food, water, and a covered litter box for easy access.
🐾 A large, enclosed litter box is recommended to minimize mess.

10. FLEA PREVENTION

We recommend Advantage II Flea Treatment for kittens (2-5 lbs). This vet-approved treatment kills fleas at all life stages and provides protection for up to 4 weeks. It is waterproof and safe for kittens 8 weeks or older.

11. LEGAL AGREEMENT

This policy serves as the entire agreement between the buyer and Kitten Paws. Any disputes or mediation will be handled in Los Angeles County, California.

12. CONSENT TO COMMUNICATION

By purchasing a kitten, the new owner agrees to receive email and SMS updates related to vaccinations, kitten care tips, and Kitten Paws news. This can be canceled at any time by contacting us.
